The ensemble presents the most beautiful gems of the folk music and folk dance treasures of the Carpathian Basin. The choreographies in the edited programme are the works of the most outstanding choreographers of contemporary Hungarian dance.

Balkan Project
In the music of the Phonogram award winner Cimbaliband, the Eastern European feeling of life is mixed with folk music and popular modern musical styles. The members of the band have a significant history as folk musicians, so in the “witch's kitchen” of Cimbaliband, the dishes are prepared based on authentic music drawn from the roots.

The show features dances from three continents. From Southern Europe we will be introduced to Spanish flamenco by the dancers of FlamenCorazoneArte, from South America to the world of Argentine tango by the Pesti Tango Theatre and from South Asia to the world of Indian dance by the artists of the Sivasakti Kalananda Dance Theatre.

Building tour and exhibition at the National Archives
On 20 August, the National Archives of Hungary will welcome visitors with a variety of programmes, building tours in English and Hungarian, a chamber exhibition and a permanent exhibition entitled The Memory of the Nation – Milestones of Hungarian History. The programmes are free of charge from 10:00 to 18:00 hrs.
